WELCOME LETTER On behalf of the Organizing Committee, I am pleased to invite you to the First French-Spanish Mathematical Congress, to be held in Zaragoza (Saragosse), from 9th to 13th July 2007. This Congress is organized under the auspices of the "Real Sociedad Matemática Española", the "Sociedad Española de Matemática Aplicada" and the "Société Mathématique de France", and aims to bringing together mathematicians from both France and Spain, and also from anywhere in the world. Presentations from ten plenary speakers, selected by a Scientific Committee appointed by the three societies, will highlight important advances in our field. In addition, there will be Special Sessions and Poster Sessions. Participation in the Congress will provide an opportunity to visit Zaragoza, which has a long and interesting history, dating back to the Roman Empire, and even before. Its University is one of the oldest in Spain, having been founded in the sixteenth century. I very much hope that you will be able to attend the Congress and visit our city.
